A Weekend of Billiards Fun at Quail Creek

First-Time Wins and New Leadership

The tournament saw a new champion emerge and a new face leading the competition. Terry Haggart, a longtime member of the club, took home the first-place trophy, marking a significant milestone in his billiards journey. Skip Jones also played a key role for the first time, stepping up as the tournament director and ensuring a smooth competition.

Double Elimination and Handicaps

The tournament adopted a double-elimination format, guaranteeing at least two matches for each participant. This system ensures everyone gets a chance to showcase their skills. Additionally, the tournament organizers applied handicaps based on player abilities to create a level playing field and allow participants of all skill levels to compete and advance.

Tournament Highlights

Following a day of intense competition, three players remained undefeated: Terry Haggart, Klaus Schroeder, and Art Lynch. On the second day, Schroeder and Lynch battled it out, with Schroeder emerging victorious and sending Lynch to the third-place position.

The final match between Schroeder and Haggart was a nail-biter. Schroeder narrowly missed a shot that could have won him the game, and Haggart seized the opportunity, sinking the 9-ball and securing the championship title.
