Learn Partner Western Dancing at SaddleBrooke
The Preserve at SaddleBrooke offers a wealth of opportunities to get involved and meet neighbors. One such opportunity is the SaddleBrooke Partner’s Western Dance Club, a fun and active way to spend time together with a partner. It’s not just about the steps; it’s about building connections, improving your health, and having a blast. We offer a welcoming environment for couples of all experience levels to learn and explore the world of partner Western Dancing at SaddleBrooke.
Easy Does It: Master the Texas Two-Step (Even if You’ve Never Danced Before!)
We believe everyone deserves to experience the joy of dancing. That’s why we start with the Texas Two-Step, one of the easiest dances to learn. No fancy footwork or complicated routines here – just “slow, slow, quick, quick”! Our beginner-friendly classes will get you moving in no time.
Here’s what you can expect:
- Six-week beginner Texas Two-Step course: Meets on Mondays at 6 pm in the Rincon Room.
- Weekly review: We’ll revisit previously learned steps each week to ensure you retain the information.
- Comfortable footwear: Leather-soled shoes or cowboy boots will help you glide across the dance floor with ease.
Don’t worry: Our philosophy is to have fun while learning! We focus on clear instruction and building muscle memory through practice, not pressure.
Take it Up a Notch: Intermediate Texas Two-Step and Partner Pattern Dances
Feeling confident after mastering the basics? We’ve got you covered!
- Intermediate Texas Two-Step: If you’re ready for more intricate steps, join our Intermediate class at 7 pm in the Rincon Room. The same schedule applies as the beginner course.
- Partner Pattern Dances: These dances offer a fun alternative to the Two-Step. Learn dances like the Cha Cha, Waltz, and Swing, all done in a “sweetheart position” with your partner. Similar to line dances, these follow a set pattern of steps that repeat.
- Introductory and advanced Partner Pattern classes: Offered Thursdays at 6 pm and 7 pm, respectively, in the Rincon Room. The very first dance you’ll learn? The “10 Step” – easy peasy!
Beyond the Classroom: Join Our Dance Parties!
Once you’ve learned the basics, it’s time to put your skills to the test! Partner’s Western Dance Club hosts monthly dance events with the lively Wild Ride band.
- First dance: Join us in the MountainView Ballroom.
- Membership: Membership is only $15 and unlocks access to all future dance events.
