Every year, members of the Quail Creek Book Club come together for a special holiday gathering. Since 2010, they’ve made it a tradition to bring new children’s books to share. But these books hold a deeper purpose—they’re destined to bring joy to local low-income children.
A Gift of Literacy and Love
Led by Laura Reilly, the Book Club’s facilitator, these books find their way into the hands of kids who may not receive any other holiday gifts. For many children, these books represent more than stories; they’re tokens of love from a community dedicated to literacy.
“We’re thrilled to provide area children with books they can call their own,” says Reilly.
Supporting the Community Beyond Books
But the Book Club’s impact doesn’t stop there. They also support various programs at the Sahuarita Food Bank and Community Resource Center, from free tax preparation to vocational training for young adults.
Gratitude and Appreciation
“We deeply appreciate the Quail Creek Book Club and their generous gifts,” says Kellie Tonks, the center’s office administrator.
In a world where literacy is precious, the Quail Creek Book Club’s tradition reminds us of the joy found in sharing stories—and the kindness of those who do.
