SaddleBrooke Golfers Shine at Senior Amateur Championship
Camaraderie and competition shine at SaddleBrooke and The Preserve at SaddleBrooke, where residents embrace an active 55+ lifestyle. SaddleBrooke golfers recently took to the greens to showcase their skill and sportsmanship at the State Senior Amateur Championship.
Championship Overview
Held during the late summer season, 78 women competed in the prestigious State Senior Amateur Championship at Oro Valley Country Club. The 54-hole, three-day stroke play tournament featured three divisions—Championship, Field, and Super Senior (70+).
It was three days of sun, fun, golf, and camaraderie, with SaddleBrooke once again fielding the largest group of players from any club—15 in total! AZ Golf President John Souza attended the awards luncheon and personally thanked the SaddleBrooke ladies for their enthusiastic participation and commitment to women’s golf.
Looking Ahead
AZ Golf has committed to holding this tournament in the Tucson area every other year. The next event will take place in Scottsdale, followed by a return to Tucson the year after. Golfers are encouraged to keep an eye out for upcoming details—it’s an experience filled with great competition and lasting friendships.
