Dinking Divas Shoe Drive at SaddleBrooke Ranch

Supporting the Tucson Community

Recently, the Dinking Divas of SaddleBrooke Ranch came together to make a meaningful impact through a community-driven shoe drive. This special initiative was organized to provide much-needed footwear to individuals experiencing homelessness in the Tucson region.

Furthermore, members of the Dinking Divas accepted donations at the SaddleBrooke Ranch Pickleball Courts, and the generosity of residents was overwhelming. In fact, nearly 900 pairs of men’s and women’s shoes were collected, far exceeding expectations. Debora Witten, who has led this effort for the past three years, and the dedicated Divas who sorted and bagged the shoes expressed their gratitude: “We want to thank all the SaddleBrooke Ranch residents who contributed! Shoes are one of the most-needed items for the homeless.”

Where the Donations Go

The donated shoes are distributed to various organizations that support those in need, including:

• Gospel Rescue Mission Shelter Program – Part of a collaborative campus where multiple social service organizations work together to help individuals transition from homelessness to stability.
• The Salvation Army Hospitality House – A 24/7 emergency shelter providing housing for men, women, and families in crisis.
• The Z Mansion – Serving over 200 individuals weekly with meals and essential resources.
• Casa Maria Soup Kitchen – A Catholic worker house feeding more than 700 people daily.
• Sister José Women’s Center – A safe and welcoming space dedicated to supporting women experiencing homelessness.

Additionally, workers and volunteers also enjoyed live entertainment provided by Andy Waddell, adding a joyful touch to this charitable event.
