Team SBR Fights Cancer at Light the Night!
Each year, residents of SaddleBrooke Ranch come together to support the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s “Light the Night” walk and fundraiser. Under the banner Team SBR: Strong—Brave—Resilient, they walk in solidarity, raise funds, and share hope. For more than a decade, Team SBR has fought cancer has proudly ranked among the top three fundraising teams in the Tucson area, demonstrating their deep commitment to making a difference in the lives of those affected by blood cancers.
This isn’t just a walk. It’s a heartfelt tradition of unity, remembrance, and purpose. Whether honoring survivors, remembering loved ones, or supporting those in the fight, SaddleBrooke Ranch residents show up with compassion—and make a meaningful impact.
Where Do the Donations Go?
It’s a question that comes up often: “How are our fundraising dollars actually used?”
According to Emily Tisdale, Campaign Development Manager with the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society in Tucson, the money raised each year supports critical services and research, including:
-
Co-Pay Assistance: 101 awards provided, totaling $568,500
-
Patient Financial Assistance: 273 awards (for patient aid, urgent needs, and travel), totaling $103,700
-
Education Services: 450 patients and caregivers served
-
Research at the University of Arizona: A decade of donations totaling $624,942
These numbers represent real help, real hope, and real lives changed. Every dollar raised goes directly toward improving the lives of patients and families affected by blood cancer.
