Competitive Golf
The long-standing competitive play between the Quail Creek Men’s Golf Association and members of the Desert Hills Men’s Club of Green Valley did not take place this year due to COVID-19. Therefore, the Quail Creek Men’s Golf Association organized a similar shootout event for its members only. Two teams of 24 players competed in a 9-hole two-man team best ball match, a two-man team modified Chapman match, and 24 individual 18-hole matches. Although there was only one winning team, the most important result of the event was the camaraderie established between the players. Read more about this event here.
The Quail Creek Ladies Golf Association combined the President’s Cup and their Club Championship this year for a fun-filled three-day flighted Championship. All players, regardless of handicap, were encouraged to play in this event. Within each flight, several places received prizes; however, there was only one overall low gross winner and one overall low net winner. This combined event doubled the participation and provided a wonderful opportunity for players to enjoy golf and connect.
With 122 members participating, the annual Quail Creek Desert Duffers (Quail Creek Men’s 9-Hole Golf Association) Individual Low Net Championship Tournament was a success! There were five flights total, four based on handicap and one flight for Super Seniors, which included golfers over 80 years old. The overall low gross winner and overall low net winner received prize money along with championship license plates. This group welcomes new members that love the game of golf!
