A Creative Challenge
What do a block of wood and a love of music have in common? At the Robson Woodshop, residents explored both interests in a hands-on class focused on crafting Native American-style flutes. Led by Woodshop members Chris Cygan and Dennis Downs, participants transformed ordinary pieces of wood into one-of-a-kind musical instruments. Using the Woodshop’s impressive collection of tools and equipment, each resident created a flute with its own look and sound.
Craftsmanship Meets Music
The finished flutes were as beautiful as they were functional. Each instrument reflected the creativity and craftsmanship of its maker, adding another impressive project to the long list of items produced in the Woodshop.
Known for creating stunning bowls, cutting boards, and other handcrafted pieces, the Woodshop inspires residents to expand their skills. This special class gave participants the chance to combine fine woodworking with the joy of making music.
