Pickleball is one of the fastest growing sports in the U.S. The Pickleball Club at Quail Creek promotes the sport by fostering a friendly community of players to get together for social events, competitive play, and to provide instruction and equipment.
Quail Creek Couples’ Golf Association
The 27 holes of championship golf at Quail Creek encourages fun golf and good company! Men and women team up as a couple each month and participate in a tournament that incudes a prize and lunch with their entry fee.
Quail Creek Hikers
The beautiful Green Valley area weather and nearby mountains make Quail Creek a desirable retirement destination for active adults. The Quail Creek Hikers club hikes weekly from October through April, with varying trail levels of difficulty, from moderate to strenuous.
Ladies’ 9-Hole Golf Association
The Quail Creek Ladies’ 9-Hole Golf Association enjoy golf, fellowship, tournaments, invitationals, luncheons, and other special events. Five golf scores are required to establish a handicap. There is an annual due which includes handicap fee and league dues.
Ladies’ 18-Hole Golf Association
Quail Creek Ladies’ 18-Hole Golf Association meets weekly for organized play. The ladies, who are usually paired in flights, participate in ABCD and low gross- low net tournaments, as well as four major tournaments each year. Join this spirited group to learn about the game, meet other lady golfers and explore your talents.
Men’s 9-Hole Golf Association
The Desert Duffers mission is “Golf is a Game! Have Fun!” Golf activities are conducted in accordance with USGA, AGA, local, and Desert Duffers standing rules. AGA handicapping is used for both individual and team events. Golf outings at other courses and social activities with wives are included.
Men’s Golf Association
The Quail Creek Men’s Golf Association hosts weekly events that include scrambles, ABCD teams, partner and individual play to provide enjoyable opportunities for every skill level. This club also hosts a Club Championship, President’s Cup and an Annual Invitational.
Quail Creek Softball Club
Senior (55+) slow pitch softball is a major activity in the Green Valley area. More than 150 players of both sexes and all skill levels are currently playing. Games are generally in the mornings, year-round.
Veterans’ Golf Association
The purpose of the Quail Creek Veterans’ Golf Association (QCVGA) is to promote the game of golf, encourage good fellowship, and sportsmanship among the Military Veterans, spouses, widows, and widowers of the Quail Creek community. Tournaments are held at various courses within the Green Valley, Sahuarita area.
Quail Creek Table Tennis Club

Bridge Clubs
At Quail Creek, active adults can join in on a variety of Bridge sessions/clubs. Bridge Refresher sessions let you learn new conventions and brush up on your skills whether you are new to the game or a senior player. Ladies Marathon Bridge includes team play with a monthly schedule of planned events. Mixed Party Bridge is for Bridge enthusiasts who want to enjoy this fun card game on a weekly basis.
Computer Club
The Computer Club is one of the most popular clubs within this 55-plus active adult community. The club provides members with assistance, training, and education for their computing devices by well-qualified volunteers. Paved, accessible trails are also available for people using wheelchairs and walkers and meander through the beautiful lower canyon area. Whether you are a junior or senior hiker, Madera Canyon offers something for everyone!
Bird Watching
Bird enthusiasts and those who simply appreciate the many facets of nature will enjoy Madera Canyon. The riparian woodland along the intermittent stream and the wide variety of southern Arizona flora is home to more than 250 species of birds. The canyon is a premier birdwatching area from common species seen often in the area to rare species found only with luck.
Picnicking
Enjoy the open air as you leisurely share a meal with friends and family at one of the many picnic areas at Madera Canyon. Located near the parking areas throughout the recreational site, you will find picnic tables and charcoal grills for your use.
Camping
Thirteen campsites are available in Madera Canyon at the Box Springs Campground. Campsites are suitable for tents or RVs. RV hookups are not provided. Drinking water and restrooms are available at the campground, and each campsite features a table and fire grill.
